Currently in Sofia there are plenty of stand up comedians, at least for the Bulgarian standarts. I have personally watched most of them and was happily surprised that most of them were quite good or at least showed potential. Stand up industry has suffered great changes in the recent years and all for the good and funny. More people start doing stand up and the first ones are now at a hilarious level. And the audience can only benefit from that, being able to watch more diverse and funny material. One of the oldest producing companies and arguably the biggest one is Comedy.bg. Through it you are able to watch one of the best comedians in Sofia, such as Vasil Nozharov, Nikolay Bankov, Nikola Todoroski and Ivan Kirkov who is also the owner of Comedy.bg. Between them they have more than 10 awards for stand up comedy. Some of the most notable ones are Kirkov’s Comedian of the Year Bulgaria and also Best Comedian in Adria region 2014. Nikola is the best from Macedonia who recently split the 2015 Best Comedian in Bulgaria with Vasil.
